Suno download limits explained: 20 a month on Pro, 60 on Premier, and how to waste fewer

What Suno's download caps cover, what they mean for commercial use, and how to get a keeper in fewer takes so every download counts.

Since September 3, 2026, Suno caps song downloads on every plan. As listed on Suno's pricing page when we checked on October 27, 2026:

Plan Price Credits Song downloads
Free $0 50 a day None
Pro $8 a month billed yearly 2,500 a month 20 a month
Premier $24 a month billed yearly 10,000 a month 60 a month

Paid plans can buy extra downloads and credits. Monthly credits don't roll over; purchased top-up credits don't expire, but need an active subscription to use. Check the pricing page before you plan around these numbers, because they've changed before and will again. To see what they mean for you, the free Suno credits calculator shows how many songs each plan gets you once rerolls count, and which runs out first: credits or downloads.

Why the download count matters more than it looks

The cap isn't just about how many files you can keep. Suno's terms tie commercial use to songs obtained through a permitted download within your plan's monthly allowance. A song you streamed, screen-recorded or ripped can't be used commercially, even on a paid plan. Remixes can't be used commercially at all. So for anyone releasing music, the downloads are the songs you can actually put out.

Free accounts can't download, and have no commercial rights.

This isn't legal advice. Read Suno's terms for your own situation.

Twenty is a lot of releases, and not many rerolls

Twenty finished songs a month is more than most artists release in a year. Where the cap hurts is the habit most of us have: generate, download, listen in the car, decide it's not quite it, try again. If you download every take you're unsure about, twenty goes fast.

The fix is to decide in Suno, not after downloading. And to need fewer takes to find a keeper.

Decide before you download

Set a keeper test before you generate. One or two things the take must do: the hook lands in the first chorus, the ending is clean, the second verse doesn't change genre. Listen for those, in Suno, and only download a take that passes.

Compare takes side by side. Generate two to four, listen to the same section of each (the first chorus is usually where they differ most), and pick one.

Fix in place before downloading. If a take is right except for one line or one section, use Replace Section or a line edit on it rather than downloading it and rerolling the whole song.

Get the keeper in fewer takes

Most rerolls come from prompts that leave too much to chance. The fixes that cut rolls the most:

  • Variety at 0 on a planned take, so Suno doesn't rewrite your Styles. Why that matters.
  • An ending on purpose: [End | clean ending] as the last lyric line, and an ending sentence in Styles. Songs that wander past three minutes are the most common reroll.
  • A cue on every section header, said again in Styles, so the bridge is the bridge you planned.
  • Negatives in Exclude, never in Styles, so you don't get the thing you said "no" to.
  • Lines short enough to sing, with repeated choruses identical, so the vocal doesn't rush or improvise.

Our v6 prompt guide covers each in detail. The free Styles checker and lyric checker catch most of them before you spend a credit.

Track your rolls

If you want to know whether your prompts are getting better, count. How many takes did each keeper take? Session Sheet does this automatically: paste your Suno links into a song's results, rate the takes, and your library shows rolls-to-keeper per song and across everything you've made. When a prompt change cuts that number, you'll see it.

If the cap is a dealbreaker

Some tools don't cap downloads the same way. Treblo is free and unlimited, ACE-Step runs on your own machine, and several others price per song. We compared them on exactly this, what each one lets you download and release, in Suno alternatives in 2026.
