Suno lyrics that sound written, not generated
Your first 3 songs are free. No card needed.
In every sheet
Built to be sung, not just read.
Cued section tags
Every header says how to play the section — [Bridge | spoken-sung, dub delay throws, band thins] — and Styles names the same cue, so v6 hears it twice.
The hook is the title
Sung first and last in every chorus, and at least three times in a full song. The title box and the chorus never disagree.
Choruses that repeat exactly
Every chorus before the last is identical. The Final Chorus may change one line for the lift, never the title line.
Verse 2 mirrors Verse 1
Same line count, each line within two syllables of its partner, new words and new rhyme sounds. Suno keeps the melody; the story moves on.
Lines your genre can sing
Each genre has a syllable cap for verse and hook lines. A trance hook is shorter than a country verse, and the lint holds each to its own.
Voice tags that carry gender
Duets use [Singer A, female] and [Singer B, male]; an answer voice gets its own tag and sings in every chorus, so the wrong singer doesn't take the part.
An ending Suno obeys
Every sheet stops on an [End | …] cue instead of trailing off, so v6 doesn't fade, loop or cut off mid-word.

Lyrics
[Intro | hummed female line, Rhodes alone] (mm, hm-mm) [Verse 1 | conversational, cross-stick and bass slides] Onions browning since six Your boxes taped by the door You taste it, say it needs salt I add it, and a little more [Pre-Chorus | hushed, strings swell under] Two bowls, side by side You say, smells like home Stir it, nowhere to hide I almost say it [Chorus | stacked harmonies, full band, tambourine] I made extra so you'd stay (so you'd stay) Pot's too big, anyway Say you'll have more, okay? I made extra so you'd stay [Verse 2 | whispered, brushed snare, Rhodes and bass] Steam fogs up the window Your keys are in the bowl Tubs with days on the lids So you'll eat on the road [Pre-Chorus 2 | hushed, strings swell under] Your fork stops mid-air Yeah, you catch my stare Dish towel on the chair I almost say it [Chorus | stacked harmonies, full band, tambourine] I made extra so you'd stay (so you'd stay) Pot's too big, anyway Say you'll have more, okay? I made extra so you'd stay [Bridge | spoken-sung, dub delay throws, band thins] Nobody needs this much rice I'll be eating it cold, twice Tomorrow it's one spoon Call me. Come home soon [Final Chorus | stacked harmonies, choir stacks and organ swells] I made extra so you'd stay (so you'd stay) Pot's too big, anyway Take half. I'll cook more, okay? (take half, take half) I made extra so you'd stay (so you'd stay) [End | held final note, strings resolve] Sta-a-ay
The brief
- Genre
- Neo soul
- Mood
- warm, intimate
- Vocal
- female lead, behind the beat
- Topic
- cooking for someone the night before they move away
- Influence
- Gospel, Dub
What to notice
- [Verse 1 | conversational, …]
One kitchen, one want. Onions browning, boxes taped by the door, salt: the scene says they're leaving before any line does.
- [Pre-Chorus | hushed, …]
Both pre-choruses end on "I almost say it": the hand-off line that makes the chorus the thing she does say.
- [Chorus]
The title opens and closes it. The two choruses before the last are identical, line for line.
- (so you'd stay)
Parentheses are sung, so they only hold backing answers. Directions go in the header, where Suno reads them as directions.
- [Verse 2 | whispered, …]
Four lines like Verse 1, new rhyme sounds (bowl / road against door / more), and the story a step on: keys in the bowl, food for the road.
- [Bridge | spoken-sung, dub delay throws, …]
The Dub influence lends one part — delay throws — here, and Gospel lends the choir stacks and organ in the Final Chorus. Neither takes over the genre.
- [Final Chorus]
One line changes for the lift: "Take half. I'll cook more, okay?" The title line stays.
- [End | held final note, …]
A stated ending, sung on the title's last vowel.

How it's written
A writer, then an editor.
- 1
Feeling first
The writer plans who wants what from whom, what's in the way, and what the chorus promises, before a line is written.
- 2
Five hooks in five forms
A question, a confession, a promise, an object as the claim… five candidates in five different shapes. The one the chorus sings becomes the title.
- 3
Chorus first, then the sheet
The chorus is written before the verses, so every verse walks toward it.
- 4
An A&R editor reads it
A second pass reads the draft like a producer: cut and breathe, sing, story, hook, rhyme, clean. Lines that already work are kept.
- 5
Lint, then at most one repair
Deterministic checks run on the edited sheet. Only the sections with errors go back to the model, once; anything left ships as a visible warning.
After that the sheet is yours to work: Revise this take with a note, roll a new take, rewrite one section from two options, or lock the title. Why AI lyrics sound AI, and what fixes it.
Not a one-box generator
What generic AI lyrics get wrong in Suno.
| Typical lyrics generator | Session Sheet | |
|---|---|---|
| Section tags | Bare [Verse] / [Chorus], or none. | Each header carries the section's delivery cue, matched to the Styles wording. |
| Word choice | Neon lights, shattered dreams, a tapestry of something. | 36 clichés and 29 AI tells caught by name; the editor rewrites them. |
| Rhymes | Heart / apart, fire / desire, night / light. | 10 retired rhyme pairs flagged when both land in one section; slant rhymes and assonance count as rhymes. |
| Choruses | Each repeat drifts a few words. | Identical until the last; the Final Chorus changes one line at most, never the title. |
| Line length | Every line marches at the same ten syllables. | Genre caps for verse and hook lines; short and long lines mix inside a section. |
| Repeats | (x2) and [Repeat Chorus] shorthand Suno may skip. | Every repeat written out in full. |
| Ending | None, so the song fades or loops. | An explicit [End | …] cue. |

FAQ
Questions people ask.
- Is there a free Suno lyrics generator here?
- Your first 3 songs are free, lyrics included, plus 30 studio actions for new takes, revisions and section rewrites, no card needed. After that, Pro is $9 a month. The lyric checker and syllable counter are free with no account, for lyrics you write yourself.
- Are the lyrics original?
- Yes. Each sheet is written new from your brief, with no artist, song or producer names in any line. What you may do with the finished track depends on Suno's terms and your Suno plan; our guide to who owns Suno songs covers that.
- Can it write rap verses?
- Yes. The hip-hop / trap profile writes for an MC: verses up to twelve lines, a line a bar, and the song opens on the hook. Other genres have their own lyric voice, from country's plain detail to a drop-centred festival hook.
- Can I keep my own title or hook?
- Yes. Lock the title and every take is written around it. Hook lab offers new hooks when you want them, and Revise this take keeps the hook and the scene while it changes what you ask.
- Why are some lines in parentheses?
- Suno sings whatever is in parentheses, usually as a backing voice. So the sheet only puts sung answers there, like (so you'd stay). Directions such as "whispered" go in the section header.
- Will Suno sing my lyrics exactly as written?
- Not always: a higher Variety, My Taste or the Magic Wand can rewrite words. The settings card sets Variety to 0 for Final mode, and the free "What did Suno change?" checker shows what changed and why.
- How long are the lyrics?
- Suno takes 5,000 characters; a full song aims for 1,500-3,000, less for sparse or hook-only genres and for the short form. Sections stay short enough to sing, and the lint flags one that runs long.
