A page from the guide
One Styles, every slot in its place
1alternative r&b, 92 BPM, intimate. 2Late-2010s bedroom R&B, warm tape saturation. 3Soft breathy female lead, close in the verses, full voice on the hook. 4Dry swung drum machine with rimshot and finger snaps, round sub bass that slides into each chorus. 5Filtered Rhodes chords as the hero part, muted guitar plucks, a soft pad. 6Arrangement: intro 4 bars, filtered Rhodes; verse close and conversational; pre-chorus rising, building into the hook; chorus full voice, hook up front; bridge stripped back, piano and voice; final chorus full voice, biggest lift. 7Vocal upfront and dry, sub mono and centred, pads wide. 8Ends cold after the final chorus.
- 1Lead genre tag, tempo, feel. Suno's own genre wording first, then BPM, then one mood word.
- 2Era or production colour. One phrase. It does more than any adjective.
- 3The lead vocal. Gender, timbre, delivery, and how it changes.
- 4Drums, then bass. The parts that make the genre the genre.
- 5Keys, guitars, textures. Six at most. Pick one hero part.
- 6The arrangement. Every sung section with its delivery, the same words as the lyric headers.
- 7Mix placement. Where things sit, not how good they are.
- 8The ending. Say how it stops, or Suno decides.
- 645 characters. The guide explains each slot, the budget, and what to cut first.
Questions
Before you download
Is it really free?+
Yes. Enter your email and the download starts on the same screen; there's no account and no card. We'll send a few Suno prompt tips now and then, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
Does it work on a phone?+
The PDF is laid out at a phone-friendly 5.5 × 9 inch page with large type, and there's a Read online version that reflows to any screen.
Which Suno version is it for?+
v6, v6-wild and v6-mini. Most of it holds for v5.5 too, and there's a page on what changed. Suno moves its controls between releases, so the guide tells you to check each setting name in your own composer.
Is it a list of tags to copy?+
No. It's how v6 reads a prompt, so you can write your own: the field order, what each tag does, the fixes for the usual failures. The 106 genre lead tags at the back are a reference, each with its tempo range.
Who wrote it?+
The team behind Session Sheet, from the rules the app enforces on every song it writes and the questions Suno users ask most. Session Sheet is independent and not affiliated with Suno, Inc.
